When it comes to personal and family decisions, the state should focus on protecting rights, ensuring safety, and respecting the private relationships between individuals and their medical professionals.
Whether it’s reproductive care, gender-affirming care, or other sensitive medical treatments, I believe these are deeply personal matters that should be decided by patients, their doctors, and when minors are involved, their parents. Government mandates or bans on specific medical procedures overstep the proper role of the state and undermine the privacy we all value.
I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and the right of law-abiding citizens to own firearms. I also believe in promoting responsible gun ownership and taking practical steps to reduce gun violence. This means focusing on policies that keep firearms out of the hands of dangerous criminals, encourage safe storage, and ensure that those who own guns do so responsibly—without infringing on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.
Discussions about athletics and gender identity are complex and personal. At the same time, policies should take fairness and competitive balance into account. I believe we can find solutions that respect all students while maintaining the integrity of competition.
