The Georgia Department of Transportation is overseen by a 14 member Board, with one member representing each Congressional District. The District 10 GDOT Board Member is Jamie Boswell.
On October 2, I mailed a letter to Mr. Boswell, asking for his assistance in ensuring that all relevant data and studies related to the Watkinsville Bypass Project are released to the public before any decision is made or the next Public Information Open House is held. I followed up with an email the following week.
To date, no response has been received, and no new materials have been added to the project website.
Therefore, I am making my letter public.

It is not too much to ask for transparency on this project, and the lack of response is concerning.
The public needs to know.
Members of the State GDOT Board are elected by members of the Georgia Assembly representing the areas they cover.
Mr. Boswell's current term on the board expires in April 2028, meaning the winner of this election will participate in the election of the next GDOT Board member representing Oconee and Clarke counties.
Voters should also be aware that that Mr. Boswell contributed $3000 to my opponent's campaign (see page 4).

It is important that District 121 voters know what is at stake. I have asked repeatedly for more information from GDOT on the Watkinsville Bypass project, and more recently, I have had no response. At the Oconee Board of Commissioner's Town Hall meeting held on September 15, it was mentioned that a "political solution" may be required to end this project if necessary.
I was at that meeting, and I was asked directly whether I support the project in it's current state. My answer was no. We need more information, and if we don't get it, the project needs to be canceled.
Who do you trust to fight this fight for you?
