New Website! Accountability, Transparency, and A New Politics

June 22, 2026

Welcome To The New Website

This is a new website for my re-election campaign. I'm glad you found it!

Over the past few months, I've been thinking about how to make it easier for constituents to see what I'm doing under the Gold Dome.

This new website is my attempt to do exactly that.

I am trying my best to do this job the way I've always wanted it done for me, and that means transparency and accountability. Since my election in December 2025, I have held community events each month, and I plan to continue doing so. After getting my first session under my belt, I knew I wanted to be as transparent as possible about my votes during the session. Being a tech guy, I set out to build a website to do exactly that.

The key feature of this website, and one that I think is unique among politicians (I still hate referring to myself that way) is under the "Record" heading. I didn't include every bill from the 2026 Legislative Session, but I included what I believe are the most impactful. If I skipped one you care about, let me know!

Constituents can search for bills by name, subject, bill number, or how I voted to see some key pieces of information:

  • What area the bill deals with
  • How bipartisan the vote was
  • How I voted
  • Whether the bill ultimately became law

This may be a little "retro" at this point, but I'm bringing back the "Blog". This will be a place for media statements, position papers, videos, legislative updates, and explanations of important bills. The idea is that anyone in the district (or, well on the planet) can come and see exactly how I feel about any given issue, in my own words.

I'm pretty sure my Campaign Manager is going to hate it.

A New Politics and a New Campaign

I ran for GA State House, District 121 in 2024, and I got in late so I had to hit the ground running. I had already announced my 2026 campaign in August 2025, so when my predecessor stepped down in October and a special election was called, I was ready to jump in. It was a whirlwind campaign that happened in about 6 weeks, and there was not much time for strategy.

This year, in 2026, the campaign slogan is "Focused On What Matters". And it fits perfectly.

While redesigning this site, I thought long and hard about how I wanted to present myself. I invite you to look at the "About" page, and the first question in particular: "Why Are You A Democrat?".

If I only cared about being elected, I'd run as a Republican. District 121 is gerrymandered for a Republican, and it would be a lot easier to win election in that party.

The truth is that I’m not an especially ideological person. I believe in the American system of government, the rule of law, individual liberty, and treating people with dignity and respect. Those values are what motivated me to become politically involved in the first place.

Like many Americans, I’ve voted for candidates from both parties over the years. If I believed the Republican Party still reflected the traditional conservative principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and respect for democratic institutions, I could imagine finding common ground there.

But over the last decade, I have watched the party become increasingly centered around loyalty to one individual rather than loyalty to a set of principles. That’s not a direction I can support. I believe public officials should be accountable to the Constitution, the law, and the people they represent—not to any single politician.

That doesn’t mean I agree with every position taken by every Democrat. I certainly don’t. But on balance I believe today’s Democratic Party is the better vehicle for advancing policies that strengthen working families, protect democratic institutions, and preserve the freedoms that make this country worth fighting for.

Whether you agree with me or not, I hope you’ll take some time to explore the site, review my record, and let me know what you think. Public service works best when elected officials stay connected to the people they represent.
